Declaration of War

The world is hard enough already.

Global pandemic. White supremacists and the MAGA mob attempting an insurrection at the Capitol. Republican lawmakers across the country passing legislation designed to disenfranchise black and brown voters. Chronically stupid anti-vaxxers creating doubt and uncertainty in much-needed vaccines.

Not to mention Tom Brady still plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The world can be a hard, unforgiving place.

So when I found this Declaration of War from my son this morning, complete with a Yes/No checkbox, I had to wonder why.

Why would my sweet, little boy want to add not-s0-armed combat to an already lengthy list of trials and tribulations?

Naturally, I immediately checked “Yes.”

I can’t wait.
