Googling Daddy

Daniela, our super hero childcare professional, sent me this text and photo on Friday morning, which both warmed and broke my heart:

One of the unexpected benefits of writing a blog post every single day of my life for the last 17 years, in addition to the many columns, op-eds, videos, Twitter history, and pieces written about me, is that your eight year old son can Google the hell out of you whenever the need arises.

It also occurred to me that there is a lot of content that I’d prefer that he not see yet. Stories about my less-than-ideal decisions. Opinions that might annoy his extreme rule-following nature. Thoughts that he might find surprising.

Oh well. A photo and text like this in the midst of my day is more than worth the risk.
