AOC vs. Yoho isn’t even close

Earlier this week, Florida Republican Congressman Ted Yoho confronted Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the steps of the Capitol Building, calling her “disgusting,” “dangerous,” “crazy,” and under his breath as he walked away but within earshot of the press, a “fucking bitch.”

After Yoho offered a non-apology on the House floor, Ocasio-Cortez responded before the House.

She was brilliant.

Ocasio-Cortez frightens men like Ted Yoyo because not only is she brilliant, articulate, savvy, and strong, but she is female and brown. Standing in a building built by slaves and run by white men for more than two centuries, Ocasio-Cortez represents a threat to aging, bloated power structures. She scares little men like Yoho who lack the rhetorical or intellectual chops to compete with someone like Ocasio-Cortez.

The speech is a joy to watch. I’ve actually listened to it three times, just because it’s so good to hear a politician speak like this again after nearly four years of Trump. In fact, contrast her speech to almost anything that Trump says.

Ocasio-Cortez is clear, concise, scathing, logical, and persuasive. Trump is utterly inarticulate, rambling, repetitive, and illogical.

I don’t agree with Ocasio-Cortez on every issue, but I would support her in any election. She s a brilliant, compassionate, knowledgeable politician with the working class background that I adore.

I would not be surprised if she is President someday.

Take 10 minutes and watch the speech. You won’t be disappointed.
