Every shot in the arm takes us one step closer to ending this pandemic, and despite the optimism that many are rightfully feeling, we are still in a life-or-death race against another deadly wave of infection.

Just look to Brazil to see what another wave, spurred on by more infectious and potentially deadly variants, could look like for us if we don’t remain focused and aggressive on the vaccination front.

Or just look to Florida, where selfish, stupid, unpatriotic idiots are gathering en masse, causing Miami Beach to declare a state of emergency this weekend due to the enormous number of spring break vacationers.

These mostly young people will likely return to their homes next week feeling perfectly fine, but thanks to the asymptomistc nature of the coronavirus, they will likely pass the virus unknowingly onto friends, family, coworkers, and essential workers, invariably killing some of them.

Infect the selfish and stupid. Use them as vectors to the more cautious and compromised.

Get vaccinated as quickly as possible. That is the best way to take care of yourself and the people around you.
