“Hey, this is Matt’s voicemail. Leave a message, and I’ll get back to you years from now when you learn to stop leaving voicemails.”

I’m so very tempted to use it as my outgoing message.
I won’t even have to change the name.
Happily, visual voicemail has eliminated the need to actually listen to a voicemail anymore
Last week, I called a colleague in her classroom, and the voicemail message was from someone who no longer works at our school. When I told her, she said, “Oh, I’ve never used voiemail. I don’t even know how to use it.”
And I thought I was the only one.
In my 27 years of teaching, I don’t recall ever listening to a voicemail. I may have done this in my first couple of years of teaching, but I don’t recall doing so.
I give parents my cell phone number, and that’s that.
I wouldn’t even know how to set up my voicemail.
