Overcomplicated illumination

I stayed in a lovely hotel in Long Beach while working with an aerospace company.

The room was luxurious and clean, but the light switches were ridiculous.

Push buttons are fine when the lights are on, but when the lights are off and the room is dark, there’s no telling which button to press or where the lights even are.

And with buttons near the bed for “Tray pickup” and “Service,” you don’t want to hit the wrong button.

So dumb.

Do you know what’s undefeated?

The light switch.

Even in absolute darkness, I know which way is up.
