If you were worried about me getting lonely during the day now that I’m not teaching, rest assured I am blessed with many friends who join me for breakfast, lunch, and golf.
I also have lots of clients who I genuinely like and enjoy working alongside.
I also have two business partners — one in Connecticut — who I speak with frequently, plus a production manager who I will be seeing more of in the days to come.
Plus I have an agent and her team who I work with just about every day.
Despite an empty spot in my gut where about two dozen fifth graders should reside, I have lots and lots of people in my life.
And when all those people are unavailable, I also have this guy and his equally obsessed brother.
I did not ask, nor did I invite the cat to join me in this manner, and yet he did, and not for the first time.
I’m not lonely. I promise.
