My next novel, “Cardboard Knight,” will land on bookstore shelves in January.
I’m very excited.
It’s my first middle-grade novel, written specifically for kids ages 8-14, though adults who have read the unpublished manuscript have mistaken it for an adult novel.
That’s the sweet spot where I was aiming:
A book for middle-grade kids whose parents will genuinely enjoy, too.
Today I get to share the cover with you.
It’s one of my favorite covers of the ten books I’ve published. And for the first time, my students had an enormous role in its design. My feedback and theirs significantly changed the cover, producing something I think readers will love.
