A man who is proving that nothing is as complicated as people think or want it to be.

A phrase that I say often and believe strongly is this:

“Nothing is as complicated as people think it is or want it to be.

That second part of the statement is the one people don’t always realize, but it’s tragically true. There are people in this world — hordes of them — who revel in complexity. Processes. Systems. Norms. Checklists. PowerPoints. Agendas. Forms.

Complexity is like a blanket they wrap themselves in to feel safe and accomplished. Creativity, inspiration, and genuine problem-solving are replaced by the physical evidence and detritus of marginal, often meaningless progress.

Here is a man who is proving that nothing is as complicated as people think it is or want it to be. One man in the comfort of his home is accomplishing more than enormous government agencies and helping humanity in the process.
