Charlie and the Box

Charlie made a movie.

Not surprising – since he and I talk storytelling a lot – it has all of the components of a well crafted story:

  • A clear, identifiable location
  • A protagonist facing a considerable obstacle
  • Absence of unnecessary, self serving, storying-killing discourse
  • A lean, clean plot
  • Suspense
  • Humor
  • A dash of cognitive dissonance
  • A singular moment at the end of the story that says it all
  • Operantly metaphorical

I’ve only watched it about 100 times.

Granted, I love the actor more than most.
