Doesn’t anyone know how to propose anymore?
As most of you know, my proposal to Elysha was a carefully orchestrated event that I wanted her to remember forever. It was a coordinated effort by many friends and family members, and I’m eternally thankful to them all.
You can read about it here.
But over the past few days, I’ve heard about a few engagements that were less than stellar.
One guy asked his wife to marry him in the parking lot of the jewelry store where the engagement ring was purchased.
Another guy informed his future bride that that he was sick and tired of having to drive across town every day to see her and insisted that they get married immediately.
They were married four months later.
Another would-be husband never proposed to his wife at all. His brother proposed for him by asking the couple to set a date over dinner. That bride still has no engagement ring, more than two decades later.
Tonight I met a couple who has been engaged for more than five years and could barely remember how the proposal took place.
What has happened to the world?
